Here's What The Iconic Cast Of Star Wars Looks Like Today

There has never been a movie series quite as iconic as Star Wars. People across the globe can hum its theme tune, empathize with the beloved characters, and relate to its universal themes. But the original films came out “a long time ago” — and the fortunes of those who appeared on screen have been vastly different over the years. Here, then, is what the incredible cast of the original six Star Wars movies looks like today — or before they become one with the Force...

1. Warwick Davis (Wicket)

Warwick Davis played Wicket the Ewok in 1983’s Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi when he was just 11 years old. This major breakthrough preceded a number of roles in major films, such as Willow and the Harry Potter movies. He has also returned to the saga on numerous occasions, including in Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker.

2. Ahmed Best (Jar Jar Binks)

There was an incredible backlash against 1999’s Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace, and no one was hit harder than Ahmed Best, who played the much-maligned Jar Jar Binks. He’s had steady work in TV and shorts since the movie, though, and has even moved onto a different Star Wars role. In 2020 Best hosted the kids' game show Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge.

3. Samuel L. Jackson (Mace Windu)

Samuel L. Jackson was famous — and Oscar-nominated — before he played Mace Windu in The Phantom Menace, but Star Wars brought him to a whole new audience. These days, he’s still a prolific actor, and Box Office Mojo states that he is one of the biggest box office stars of all time. His films have collectively earned approximately $27 billion.

4. Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn)

Liam Neeson was perfectly cast as wise old mentor Qui-Gon Jinn in The Phantom Menace, and he even got to show off some lightsaber skills. But it wasn’t until 2009’s Taken that Neeson became a bona fide action star, and he’s still looking good today. He also marked a return to Star Wars with a cameo in the Disney Plus series Obi-Wan Kenobi.
